DC office Kma, Pughoboto SDPDB celebrate advent Christmas

DIMAPUR

Deputy commissioner office, Kohima organised an advent Christmas programme on Thursday at the DC’s farm site, Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie in his message said that they were grateful to God for what they were today and that they would not be celebrating the day if it was not by the grace of God.
God has been so kind to us that we could celebrate together with the improved situation today, he stated.
DC said that as people exchanged good wishes in kind and in words with friends and strangers, they also marked the day with prayers, special services and carols besides traditional mass community feasts.
In this regard, he said that besides the joy and love they shared, it was important to understand and know deeper the insight and true meaning of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ.
Gregory urged upon the officers and staff from various departments that they should open their hearts and submit their lives spiritually to God and ask for guidance while acknowledging the supreme sacrifice He had made for them.
Earlier, SDO (C) R. Daniel Angami chaired the programme while a special number was presented by SDO (C) office Zubza and Jakhama.
Pughoboto SDPDB: Pughoboto SDPDB organised a meeting-cum-pre-Christmas celebration with SDBDB chairman and Y. Vikheho Swu, MLA at the DB court hall, Pughoboto on Thursday.
According to a DIPR report, Vikheho urged upon all the village chairmen to beautify and develop their areas during their chairmanship. He informed that more tree saplings would be planted in all 24 villages with the help of officers in the month of April 2022.
On the Pughoboto district demand, the MLA urged the people to reflect on the upliftment of areas and also introspect their forefathers’ contribution in nationalism, migration and religion. He said that he would continue to give his best for the people as the representative of the area and asked them to contribute positive thinking and not to miss the bus for creation of Pughoboto district.
Pughoboto district demand memorandum booklet copy was also handed over to all the VCC during the meeting.
ADC Thungchanbemo Tungoe also informed the VCC to play their roles with positive mindsets for a healthy and prosperous environment.
Meanwhile, SAH president Inavi Swu while highlighting Pughoboto district demand dwelt on the need to establish a State Bank of India office in Pughoboto.
Appreciating the MLA and ADC for taking special meeting with the VC Chairman and grassroots level workers, he urged the chairman to know more about the government developmental activities and requested them to cooperate with each other.
Vikheho also delivered a Christmas greetings message.
During the programme, the members observed a two-minute silence in remembrance of the 14 innocent civilians killed at Oting village and apprised the government to repeal AFSPA.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by SDO civil, Longasen EE PWD Er. Chengato said the invocation, SABAK youth secretary, Hokato Futhena delivered a Christmas message while a special song was presented by Kaboto Swu.
The house also welcomed new member SDEO Pughoboto, Wobenthung Lotha.
